Lofton and TAV come clean

One of the things that really marred my perception of the Pro-disaffiliation crowd is not their stance on Pro-life, of which I am in agreement with, but its underlying religious bigotry.

As the nation sinks ever more down the rat hole of existence, it should be self evident to all that we need to ban together for the common good on issues, such as abortion, etc. This requires Catholics and others to work together to fight the battles that will ultimately decide our future and the nations' existence.

Though many on the "Pro" side were good and decent people, I began to see the man behind the mask of many. It started with with Steve Lefamine, who had several articles on his pro-life website adopting the Jack Chick/Hislop/Chinquay tone on the Catholic Church.

Then comes the TAV, an outgrowth of the Peroutka 2004 campaign, of which I supported. Many of us remember Michael's outreach to Mormons, Catholics and various Protestants alike for votes and campaign contributions. So, many of us continued to gravitate to the TAV as an outgrowth and , we hoped, a way to get the message out and attract more people to the CP and hopefully, make Peroutka a more visible alternative in 2008.

Quickly, though, Catholics and Mormons could feel the heat as we were attacked and shunned on TAV website forum by posters and Catholic-turned-Reformed moderator Whiteman, who-unlike Peroutka-is not shy attacking his former faith and co-religionists.

For some time, John Lofton has mentioned on the radio program about finding out what people believe prior to their coming into this country. In general, I too wonder-if we are in a "war" with Muslim "terrorists", why do we not seal our borders and do NOT admit in those from Islamic nations. In that vein, I can agree with Lofton.

Increasingly, he has not diffrentiated and has noted, in light of illegal immigrants from Central and South America, we should have a religious test. Since presumbly, most are Catholic, this may be telling. It should be noted that both Protestantism and Islam are making inroads into once Catholic nations, many of whom have had history of persecution of the Church (Christero's in Mexico for one).

As Lofton and TAV have now left the CP-Lofton prior to Maryland withdraw opining he was a Recovering CP member, like his schitick of Recovering Republican, he is more bold. More than his hit piece on Gilchrist.

In an interview with Human Events, there was this exchange:

Q: How do you think ‘illegal immigration’ should be handled in a Christian way?
A: I favor a Christian religious test for immigrants coming here because what God or gods a person worships is the most important thing about a person. To pretend that “religion” doesn’t matter is suicidal for a nation. As God tells us in Psalm 9:17: “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”

The questions begs-who decides who is a Christian? What is the standard? As attacks on Catholics go largely unchecked at TAV forum, with some denying that Catholics ARE Christians, this is rather obvious, no? Whiteman after all labelled Mormons as "devil worshippers".

Then there is this article, posted on TAV site, by Gary DeMar:

A portion to note and one that was not amended or corrected in ANY way by Lofton and Co:

In 1528, Martin Luther wrote On the War with the Turks. In 1532, he wrote: “I am entirely of the opinion that the papacy is the Antichrist. But if anyone wants to add the turk, then the pope is the spirit of Antichrist, and the turk is the flesh of Antichrist. They help each other in their murderous work. The latter slaughters bodily and by the sword, the former spiritually and by doctrine.”

Of course, it was Catholics defending and fighting at the gates of Vienna, at Lepanto and many other battles, 2nd only to the Orthodox. Luther was busy chiding the German princes to murder the Peasants in the uprising that ultimately cost more than 100,000 lives. Luther and Calvin refused to lift a finger until their heretical movements were granted freedom by the Pope and Catholic leaders. No recognition, no troops and support.

I could go on and may add later to this ppost, but I think what we see is-what is Lofton's word?-revelatory.

(TAV has several posters that have specifically stated mo cooperation w/Catholics, nor even recognizing Catholicism with Christian. I leave to you reader to do the research).

UPDATE 8/28/06++++++

Who should/should not be in CP per TAV posters (not corrected either)

Whiteman:

With all due respect to you, I respectfully disagree. As for the respect Joseph Arminus deserves, his lies are not from the perspective of man, but from the pit of Hell. He denies the sufficiency of the Cross, the depth of the fall, and the sureness of our faith. He preached a god who was so impotent that he couldn't guarantee even one soul by having his son die on the Cross. Arminus's god made water for the world, but quenched no one's thirst. Arminus's men were not so dead in sin that they couldn't even realise they were dead. The Bible portrays man as dead is his sin. A dead man doesn't "find" God. A dead man stays dead, and rots. God saves. Men rot. That is a maxim we can rest on.
